What Is Phantom Lobster, and How Much Does It Cost?
The Throw Food For Animals Phantom Lobster is a Tier 16 Cosmic food upgrade that costs $1.8 DD in the Food Shop. It helps you pursue rarer animals, but your Throw Power still determines how far you can reach. Pair the purchase with pull-up training so you can put that expensive food to work in later biomes.
Phantom Lobster belongs to the same food tier as Ghost Chowder and Calamari Rings. Here is how their prices compare:
| Food | Rarity | Tier | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ghost Chowder | Cosmic | 16 | $18 UD |
| Calamari Rings | Cosmic | 16 | $200 UD |
| Phantom Lobster | Cosmic | 16 | $1.8 DD |
Keep the currency suffixes in view when shopping. Calamari Rings uses UD, while Phantom Lobster’s price is displayed in DD.

How to Get and Use Phantom Lobster
You purchase this food with money earned in the game. Head to the blue-and-white Food Shop beside your base entrance once you have enough cash.

- Open the Food Shop and scroll to the Tier 16 foods.
- Select Phantom Lobster and purchase it for $1.8 DD.
- Return to the throwing line with the food selected.
- Time your throw for the perfect +20 Power result.
- Let the throw resolve, then open the Animals menu to compare your catch with your current team.
Better food helps attract rarer animals, while stronger throws open access to different areas. Buying the lobster advances the food side of that progression; keep training to improve your reach.
Use Equip Best after collecting stronger animals. Filling your base with higher earners helps fund your next food, training, or capacity upgrade.
How to Prepare for Phantom Harbor Throws
Phantom Harbor is the spooky area associated with this stage of progression. Reaching it depends on building Throw Power through exercise on your pull-up bar.

Upgrade the bar, then train on it. Better bars speed up your training, but you still need to perform pull-ups to build power. During active training, click the pop-up events that temporarily double your training speed.
If your food keeps landing in an earlier biome, return to training before making another attempt. Aim for consistent perfect throws when testing your reach so a weaker timing result does not obscure your progress.
Keep your income moving while you train:
- Equip stronger catches: Replace low earners through the Animals menu.
- Expand a crowded base: Each capacity upgrade adds room for two more animals.
- Buy food alongside training upgrades: Both food quality and throwing distance contribute to progression.
Avoid using the enormous animals in another base as your only benchmark. Size and mutation affect animal earnings; compare the actual cash-per-second values in your inventory.
What Can You Catch With It?
Phantom Lobster throws into Phantom Harbor can yield animals such as Ghost Pirate and Lich. Their size and mutation variants can produce very different earnings, so check each catch before deciding whether it belongs in your base.

The food does not guarantee a particular animal. Repeated throws can return different results, and an impressive rarity label does not automatically make a catch your strongest earner.
Lucky Throws provide a separate 100x luck boost. Activate the Lucky Throw option before throwing if you choose to use one; purchasing them alone does not activate the boost. Save them for attempts that reach the area you want to farm.
Is Phantom Lobster Still the Best Food?
Phantom Lobster capped the food progression when Phantom Harbor was the final area. The newer Nuclear Wasteland update adds another zone and four additional foods: Mutan Melon, Toxic Donut, Atomic Pizza, and Uranium Cake.
Use the lobster as a progression milestone on the way through Phantom Harbor. Once your shop includes the nuclear foods, look beyond Tier 16 for further upgrades instead of treating this purchase as the end of your food progression.
